Dentsply Sirona World is touted as the "Ultimate Dental Meeting." Held in Las Vegas, NV at The Venetian and The Palazzo Hotel on September 14-16, 2017, it's a beast of a conference.
Whether you've been to the conference before or you're a first-timer, we've got four tips to help you navigate the show. Five, if you count wearing comfortable shoes.
1. Choose a Track to Follow
You can't hit everything at the conference, nor should you feel like you have to. Choose an educational track to follow based on your current interests or pain points back at your practice. Dentsply Sirona World 2017 has breakout sessions based on 11 tracks:
- BUSINESS & PRACTICE MANAGEMENT
Dr. Bryan Laskin, founder of OperaDDS, will be leading two sessions in this track:
My Staff Are Trying to Kill Me (And I Couldn’t Be Happier!)
Thurs. 9/14, 3:30-4:30 pm
4 Keys to Case Acceptance
Sat. 9/16, 10:30-11:30 am
- OFFICE DESIGN
- PERIODONTICS & HYGIENE
- PROSTHETICS & LAB
- SPECIAL MARKETS & TOPICS
2. Choose Your Entertainment & General Session Speakers
Being Las Vegas, an electrifying combination of celebrity guests are scheduled throughout the conference to entertain, educate, and inspire. You're gonna be pretty tired at the end of the day, so choose your entertainment wisely.
On Thursday evening, Sept. 14, following a full day of general sessions and breakout sessions, attendees can sit back and enjoy a relaxed, undoubtedly amusing dialogue between Dentsply Sirona World host Dr. DiTolla and Smith. Following the interview, the floor will open to questions from the audience.
Later on Thursday, Sept. 14, Jeff Dunham is sure to keep the crowd laughing. Dunham is a global entertainment phenomenon with more than 45 years on stage and countless performances, making him one the world’s most recognizable and inventive entertainers.
The “Together is Better” author and TED Talk extraordinaire will speak to Ultimate Dental Meeting attendees on essential leadership skills, earning success and establishing a brand that goes the distance on Friday, Sept. 15.
Frank Spear & Gregg Kinzer
A joint general session with Dr. Frank Spear and Dr. Gregg Kinzer will also take place on Friday, Sept. 15.
As the founder and director of Spear Education at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Scottsdale, AZ, Dr. Spear devotes significant time to private teaching, both nationally and internationally, and is a member of numerous dental academies.
Dr. Kinzer serves on the editorial review board for several recognized dental publications including Quintessence International. He has been honored with the American College of Prosthodontics Achievement Award, and is a regular presenter to dental organizations throughout North America.
The performance, scheduled on Friday evening, Sept. 15, is a private concert and is exclusive to Dentsply Sirona World attendees.
"Imagine Dragons is an extraordinary group of gifted musicians and this exclusive concert offers attendees a chance to let loose after absorbing hours of comprehensive education," said Vice President of Marketing Ingo Zimmer. "Our organization takes pride in offering not only top-notch education for our attendees, but also offering A-list entertainment and a memorable experience for years to come."
An Evening of Espionage
Hosted at TAO Nightclub, adjacent to The Venetian and The Palazzo, on Saturday, Sept. 16, DentSPY Sirona World: An Evening of Espionage is inspired by the legendary spy films, series and secret operatives that have dominated the airwaves and left us fantasizing of leading a double-life.
3. Make a Plan for the Exhibition Hall
There are so many innovative products to peruse at the show, simply walking through the exhibition hall can be pretty overwhelming. We recommend making a plan of attack by scheduling time to visit specific booths from vendors you're already interested in learning more about. Note times the tradeshow opens and closes each day from the agenda.
If you're thinking about improving communications at your dental practice, be sure to visit OperaDDS at the tradeshow.
4. Share & Apply What You've Learned
Attending any conference is a serious commitment of time and money. Sure, it's great to feel inspired by new products and techniques, but if all of that information stays in Vegas, you're doing yourself and your practice a disservice.
Share new ideas with your staff and colleagues, apply what you've learned to better your business, and create more comfortable experiences for your patients.
